‘Tis the Season for Holiday parties and if you’re anything like me, that leaves you feeling a little stressed about what you’re going to wear to all of those parties.  I may or may not have had a few instances myself where I’ve stood in my walk-in closet that is filled to the brim with clothes & shoes and have melodramatically let out “I have nothing to wearrrrrrrr” as I’ve enthusiastically thrown myself to the floor and whined that I now needed to go shopping to find something to wear.

When the time came to figure out what to wear to the handful of Holiday parties that we’ve been invited to this year, I ran into a couple of challenges.  Either I’ve already worn the dress to a Holiday party in the past (this is mainly the issue when it comes to my husband’s company Holiday party), it’s too formal for the party we’re attending, or it’s not dressy enough to fit the dress code.  All this to say, I also don’t want a bunch of Holiday dresses taking up valuable (and limited!) space in my closet.  Nor do I want to spend the money on a dress that I can really only wear once a year at Holiday time.  I like for my clothes to be as versatile and multi functional as possible.

Luckily for you, I’ve pulled together a great Holiday Party outfit that won’t leave you broke as a joke and you won’t end up with dresses in your closet that you’ll never be able to wear again.

Holiday Party Attire (Without Going Broke!)
Holiday Party Attire

Black Dress Option #1 $22.99

Black Dress Option #2 $25.99

Necklace & Earring Set $10.99

Glitter Heels $29.95

Red Clutch $14.95

I love these easy combinations! Each item will be used in my regular wardrobe with other outfits later which makes them frugal and smart buys. Starting with a basic black dress (LBD, girls!) allows for versatility and increases the likelihood that the items will be worn again in the future.  Plus, at these price points, you just can’t go wrong!

If you’re looking for the right Holiday party attire without breaking the bank this Holiday season, raid your closet for what you already have before setting out to buy something else.  Think: little black dress or other basic dress/pantsuit.  If you already have the foundation for your outfit, it’s easy and frugal to add sparkly or festive jewelry, shoes or a cute clutch purse.

What about you?  What are you planning on wearing to upcoming Holiday parties?
